About Ileana Bascuas

Ileana Báscuas, PhD, ABPP, is a Licensed Psychologist with forty years of experience in children and adult services as well as mental health training and management. “Dr. B” is also Board Certified in Clinical Psychology by the American Board of Professional Psychology, an achievement only a very small percentage of psychologists obtain. Since the early 1990s, Dr. B has worked exclusively with adults in skilled nursing homes, ALFs and rehab. Based on her work with older adults, Dr. B wrote Getting Older, Being Here, A Psychologist’s (practical) Guide to Rehab, Nursing Homes, Dementia, Death, and Aging Well. Her focus is on working with adults on such issues as living with depression, chronic health problems, anxiety and negative self-talk, aging, and incorporating spirituality into everyday life.
